You can do this purely in the data editor too, its really simple and does what you want. And since this is so simple you really should use the data editor instead of a trigger so you have one less trigger running and hurting performance, this way is more efficient. I assume you already have your ability set up somewhere with a button that you click in game?
Then just go to data editor, go to the"Effects" data type tab, right-click the top-left list box and choose "Add Object...". Name it like "Add Minerals" and click the suggest button, then in the "Effect Type:" drop down box, choose "Modify Player" and click OK. Now make sure you have table view selected (menu View->Show Table View, its just easier) and select the newly created "Add Minerals" effect on the left if it isnt already. Now look at the table on the right, find the "Effect - Resources" field, double click the cell next to it, choose Minerals, and type the value you want in the box below, and hit OK. Now go to the "Abilities" data type tab and select your ability. Make sure its of the type "Effect - Instant", if it isnt, double click it and you can change the ability type. Now double click next to the "Effect - Effect" field, click the green button to add a new entry, find "Add Minerals" in the list, hit ok, and should be all set to go.

I want an ability to give 50 minerals to the user when used. Under Cost>Resource>Minerals i set it to -50, but it doesn't work.. When building buildings it uses a different interface for the cost, so i have nothing to reference off of :(.. Any help is greatly appreciated =/.
I was wondering how do i set victory conditions, instead of melee rules i want the game to end when the last player has units or something.. How do i edit this any help please? I couldn't find any tutorials or anything.. Thanks :s.
It seems to be bullshit though because by the third point he says there's a preset event called TriggerAddEventMapInit() when there really isn't.. After that he says there's a find bar at the top right of the trigger module, when there isn't.. Also he mentions some sort of "raw mode" you can get to be pressing ctrl+D, but ctrl+D doesn't do anything..
Idk there's probably more flaws but it seems to be a complete lie to me ha.. So anyways i was wondering if somebody could help me out on setting teams, maybe clarify that other tutorial, or link me to a completely different tutorial i haven't found yet? I'm quite surprised i was only able to find one, i'd think not being able to set teams would be a bigger issue.. I'm still confused as to why blizzard didn't even fix the galaxy editors alliance module yet -.-.
no requirement:
in the data editor go to abilities>ghost - nuclear strike
double click "commands +" select "execute" and click the little red x to the bottom right of the requirements
cast time:
not 100% sure but pretty darn
effects>ghost - nuke (persistent)
change the period count and duration
Thanks but it didn't work.. That's how i thought to do it too.. but for some reason in-game it still says "no nuke calldown available" and the amount of armed silos is displayed on the ability button (0).
I can't figure out how to reduce the nukes cast time and remove it's requirement of having a nuke built in the academy. Could anyone help me out please? :s.

When changing the name of a unit it reset all the movement settings.. Anyone else have this problem? Is there a way around it?
