That can't be right. Several other units also have the 'glow' effect when they are cloaked, such as the ghost and the banshee. Hell, if you bring a mothership in, every single unit in the game can get that glow effect.
So one unit in SC2 can put a cloak effect glow on hundreds of units, and we can't even put it on a single one? I hope that's not the case. :D
Hey Jeff, I actually managed to well... sort of do it.
Had to set Impact Location to 'Origin Point or Unit'. This allowed the missile to launch from the facing angle of the unit and the Impact Offset values to actually work. However the X,Y values refer to coordinates offset from the unit and doesn't take its facing angle into account.
In other words, the launched missile would never hit its impact location, thus never detonate (unless you give it timed life). I played around with this using a baneling as the Placeholder Unit (meaning a baneling would be placed at the impact location).
Hopefully this will shed some further light on how Launch Missile works, and maybe we can eventually figure out how do this without triggers. :)
Hey Jeff, thx for the reply. It didn't work though, the impact location still appears ontop of the caster unit, not offset. Hence, the missile explodes right away. :(
Hey, searched for it but couldn't find a specific answer, but this seems like the place to ask.
I want to use the Launch Missile effect with an ability - effect instant. Meaning I don't want to have to target anything, but still launch a missile.
I'd like the missile to be launched in the direction the unit is facing. Problem is that it seems Launch Missile requires a target impact location, and no matter what I set this to it seems to be on the unit itself, meaning the missile instantly dies when fired.
Is there any way to set the impact location offset from the unit somehow so the missile doesn't just blow up right away?
Any insight into this would be much appreciated. :)
I don't know if it's the map creators or who, but seems a lot of maps from the US are getting ported to EU. Anyway, so many of them are not localized, all we see are just Param/Value in all UI elements/tooltips.
So are EU players just putting them up there or what?

Wow, these icons are awesome!
Can others make use of these as well or? If so, it would be a great idea for SC2mapster to maybe make an icon database. :)

Bump.
Does anyone know how to apply these sort of glow effects?

How would one go about applying the cloaking graphics (blue glow) to a unit without actually cloaking it?
And also, can you control which players (allies, enemies, individuals) that can see this glow?
Any help would be most appreciated. :)

How about using Pick each player in player group 'Active Players'?
That way you won't spawn probes for players not in the game.

I've had the same header uploading when uploading, but it seems rather random.
Try changing your Loading image, not sure if this helps or not but it might.

I would think the latter, but I haven't tried it myself.

Ok nice I'll look into that, thanks! :)
I must admit I've been rather focused on triggers and sort of ignored the data editor. Time to get to know it I guess. :)

I believe you have to create the region first, set it to a variable, then attach that region using the variable to the unit.

Bump. Anyone?

I've heard of this being an effective method, so does anyone know how you would do this?
i.e. missile projectile hitting a target.
