I think it all depends, if the map has a bug that the maker doesn't know how to fix, i think he'll be happy that someone fixed it for him, but i guess at times, when some modifications make the map more entertaining (and at critical times, entertaining) and people begin to play the modified version because it's cooler, i can see the maker getting upset, so i think at times it's better to have a word with the maker to avoid problems, but i don't think that is map stealing unless whoever edits it removes the original author and gives himsef full credit for the map.
Okay, I was being nice about it, but I'm done. You people are freaking retarded. I see why people hate this site. Learn to freaking read you idiots, this has all been explained multiple times, I'm not explaining anything anymore.
People hate this site? would you say that it's one of the Top 100 most hated sites ever? Top 10 perhaps?
Cliffs: - Map had chick asking marine for sex, reaper eating feces - Blizzard removes map due to ToUA - Artanis186 suggests SC2Mapster community flagged it for advertising another site
¿lol que?
It's always cooler to put the blame on someone else for the stupid things that we do.
- Are we allowed to publish the map as private to hold closed beta tests? people working on multiplayer maps kinda need to know if the game runs properly with full house.
Your work is awesome, and this latest map is too.But honestly, I watch that, and I think to myself... the average player on bnet cannot possibly understand the mechanics of that game.Sorry, but your maps require too much brainpower to apply to the mindless masses.
I remember we used to call these guys Pubbies or Public Fools back in SC1, those who couldn't or wouldn't play a map if it had to be played in a different way than the average map.
So, my map was taken down. I asked on another fan-site about the legitimacy of it, and it appears to be true. So, one of the suggestions was that people around SC2Mapster are reporting the maps because it advertises Staredit.net. Well, if this is true... you people are pathetic. So I advertised my more favored fan-site and not you. Too damn bad, I didn't get any help for it here.
These people are a disgrace to StarCraft.
Do you seriously think we give a damn about who you advertise in your map? do you think it's what mapster needs to get more people? man, blaming Mapster for your mistakes is just low, and then making up a conspiracy against Staredit is even worse.
Whoever told you that is a disgrace to StarCraft, and you too if you seriously believe it.
EDIT:
I just read the post and the guy seems to be jokeing:
"Payne
This is a malicious tactic from sc2mapster to prevent SEN from getting advertisement.
Obvious conspiracy theory is obvious.
Do you have the dialogue noted down somewhere? It'd obviously help. ;o "
To me, it sounds like a joke, but you took it seriously, they even pointed out your mistakes.
you know what else? on the sc2 forums i mentioned that "starcraft 2 has the worst ever moderators" (yes i know i should'nt have said that. but the response from blizzard went way over the board.. check the screen shot of what happened. ""PERMANENT BAN" http://i36.tinypic.com/hrg93o.jpg
this new draconian blizzard is not the old blizzard that we all fell in inlove with. Its garbage.
Doesn't surprise me, some of their mods shouldn't even be there to begin with, during beta i got a 72 hour ban because some guy made another thread of an upcoming patch, where we had already about 12 threads of the same thing, his lines were "omg patch coming woot!!" when i replied telling him to search before posting and that there was enough of those threads in page 1 with no facts at all other than silly speculations, he deleted his post, making mine look like the OP, Blizz mod came around, saw that i was the first poster and banned me because i was "making" troll threads. I know some people can get confused by stuff like that, but a mod shouldn't make those mistakes, at least it was beta so i didn't care.
I've found some weird problem with the terrain height in my map, whenever i move units into elevated terrain, it slowly lowers itself and when the unit is on top, it goes back to normal as long as i don't move it, if i continue to move the unit the terrain smooths again, does anyone knows why this happens and how to fix it? thanks.

More like half the map, and many elements of the half that made it were screwed up by editor bugs in the last day.

Amazing picture is amazing, nuf said. I bet less people will get banned for hacking than for map making.

Hmm? are all of those models High Poly?

All are good, but Kanaru's looks really good for a low poly model.

I second that.
