then maybe we need a system, where mapmakers request for players of different regions to publish their maps.
it would need to somehow need to filter out the untrustworthy publishers. so that there are no leaks.
though i doubt many mapmakers would that easier hand out their unprotected map for publishing unless there was some really convincing failsafe to prevent their hard work being plagiarized.
ahhh why couldn't blizzard make these things easier...
Hey, kinda new here... hope this doesn't seem intruding.
Point is, I live in Australia, so I'm defaulted to playing in SEA (South East Asia) region, which is populated by English speaking Singaporeans, Malaysians, Australians, New Zealand, Filipinos, etc.
Thing is, the amount of custom games we have is pretty abysmal. And most of them are outdated and unofficial reuploads. We have 3 or 4 versions of Nexus Wars, all the same, buggy old version, uploaded different people. None of the new innovative fun stuff really.
This is all due to the fact you need an account on the region to publish there, and to get those accounts, you need to pay for them... So most map makers will only care for the NA and EU region, completely neglecting SEA and other regions. For example, I really want to play Cardcraft, but I can't unless I get an NA/EU account, meaning lag for me, or the creator gets an SEA account, which costs 90 AUD (83 USD), which is quite a bit, especially if you consider the other regions.
So unless the mapmakers have friends or someone they trust in the regions, to proxy upload their maps, it means that potential fans/players of their maps miss out.
Here's where SC2Mapster can come in, just assuming, as they have the resources to do so. They can create an account for each region. (SC2MapsterNA/SC2MapsterEU/SC2MapsterSEA/SC2MapsterKR/etc)
This way we can get a trusted and well known community to proxy publish our maps for us, in other regions. It's win/win/win for players/mapmakers/SC2mapster staff.
Another bonus is, this way, players can clearly identify the "official" version and it will reduce map stealing, which is already kind of prevalent in our region.
Hopefully, this wasn't already suggested and I just made an idiot of myself by not checking history. But I'm really desperate to play CardCraft... so yeah thanks... :)

actually, would it work if people donated their guest passes and used those to publish the maps?
because i don't think blizzard removes the maps of the guest passes that expire...
