I've been working my brains out to find the programs which are working best for using them to create SC2 models.
Actually I am in an deadend right now. I figured out that 3ds Max is at least the programm of choice when it comes to exporting
the models into .m3 format, but I haven't been able to find a single hint on which version would be best to use yet.
Please take your time and share your thoughts about this topic.
The language barrier (English/German) is killing 1 out of 100 words for me. That doesn't sound much, but it seems to be enough to let me struggle at the easiest steps.
I'd be realy thankfull if someone would be willing to set up a short tutorial of to use 3D max in combination with the script in order to get from the polygons to the texture and from there to the over the animation to the ingame model.
I am one of those guys which are bringing some design experience into the field, but haven't done anything for SC2 yet.
So I am currently working on putting a nice tube together.
I am also interested in joining the 3D-Designer pool.

After almost a week I've been able to work myself into 3Ds Max 2011 now. Only things I still struggling with are:
- editing an "modifiable Mesh" object (all my tools within Max arn't willing to lay a single finger on those objects)
- Using the multitexture correctly on an edit. Mesh
Could need someone to explain me how to solve these problems or someone to point me into the correct direction.

I'd like to know how to make flexibel stuff like hair and robes for a model. Demonstration on a SC2 model like marine or berserk would fit.
Maybe as an addition into the texture topic: How to make costum teamcolor textures for those gimmics.

Well, this qas pretty interesting today. Hope I am able to fix my Max until the next show to be able to directly follow your steps.
