Amazing! The script worked perfectly for both issues... Except now my actual Hero units don't have an XP bar. I forgot to specify that. Sorry. Is there a way to hide xp bars for certain veterancies or non-heroic units only?
The UI: Equipment Array - Icon didn't seem to work on first try but I didn't look further into it since the script fixed the issue.
I still appreciate that you both looked into this. Thank you very much!
Thank you DrSuperEvil! I'm glad you're always around to help me=)
Regarding the blank weapon icon, I have seen in other warcraft themed maps that they've made it work where the icon shows. If anyone knows how to make it appear I'd be super happy to know.
It seems that veterancy behaviors causes a unit's weapon icon to become blank. I have attached an image to show.
Is there a way to fix this?
If anyone knows how to remove the "Level 0" bar, that would be appreciated too^_^ The overall purpose is just to show Damage and Armor in the warcraft 3 style.
Suddenly my editor started crashing when I wanted to look through the models in the Data Editor. I then tried opening any model in the Data Editor and it crashed instantly. I tried opening a model in a default map and had the same unfortunate result.
What I'm refering to specificly is when you go to the Model section of the Data edtior and then click on Model where you can select the specific model from the list. It seems to occur as soon as the editor presents the models visually.
I didn't have this problem an hour ago. What could have happened?:(
Thanks for your help.
EDIT: I seem to have fixed it. First step is to restart your computer and then reset the model that caused the bug. Restarting the computer alone will not fix the issue. It seems some of the models are "bugged" and can cause crashes if they are initially displayed when clicking on Model... All though I can't be sure entirely.
I hope this will help anyone in the future facing the same issue!:)
So far I have been unable to assign hotkeys for item abilities (CItemAbil) in an inventory.
What I did instead was removing the ability from the item, then made a submenu for a unit where the item abilities where available as normal abilities. Whenever the hero would pick up an item the ability was allowed to be used.
But units can only have 30 abilities max.
Now it seems I need to depend on letting the items have abilities. But I would really like to enable hotkeys for them.
I have looked into making dialog buttons and hotkeys but I would like to know if there are better options.
What is the best way to have the same unit use multiple actors/models?
I'm not talking about one unit changing its model consistently, but about multiple units with the same unit-stats using different looks (models/actors).
For instance there are 3 different skins/models for footmen. The human Footman, the Swordsman/Captain and the Blood Elf Lieutenant. If I wan't to use all 3 models for variation purposes for the same unit, is there a better way than just making 3 separate units?
I see. I did it with photoshop. I'll try out with paint.net.
EDIT: That worked! Thank you so much to the both of you. I consider my problem solved.
Upon further research I realized it's actually just the first 6 pixels around the edges that needs to be transparent. Makes sense since the images are 76 pixels yeah? It's only a theory but my guess is that icons were supposed to be 70x70 pixes, with 6 additional to make the borders.
I imported a custom dds picture that appears just fine in the interface.
However when I try to make it the icon of an active ability the borders dont show. I tried to use a different icon for the same ability and the borders show clearly. It appears that my custom icon refuses to have borders. I tried to change the path and the name to be similar to other active ability icons but it doesn't change the outcome. So how can I make my custom icon have showing borders for the ability?
I see. No worries though, I've used 3ds max before for sc2 and there a plenty of guides on the web if I need to pick up on it again.
I have gained the information I need and I consider my problem problem.
From what I can remember there was no death animation for the Storm, Earth and Fire pandas in the original WC3. Surprisingly when I look inside the Cutscene Edtior there is actually a death and dissipate animation for them in SC2.
However the animations are called "Bla" and "Bla1" and I am not able to play them since those animation names are not available. Is there a different way to play or rename these "Bla" animations?
I made a small adjustment with the "Area - Count" by setting it to "-1". Perhaps there was a misunderstanding with how it was supposed to work exactly. Either way the overall spell works with the validator. I've tested it a couple of times and it works exactly as I intended. The spell is only cast if a nearby unit does not have the buff.
Thank you so much aZergBaneling. My problem is solved!
I'm sure this problem has already been solved somewhere and the information can be figured out in various data guides anyway - but I've tried for hours now and I really need some help :S
It's quite simple: I have an AOE spell that applies a buff to nearby units, and it should only be auto-casted if a nearby unit does NOT have the buff.
I thought this would be simple and straight forward but sadly I failed to create it.

Is there a way to rename the different behavior categories?
I'm specificly looking to rename the ones called "User 1", "User 2" and so on.
Thank you very much for looking into this:)

Sweet! That is very helpful information. I'll try out the options when I can and get back to you if I run into trouble.

Didn't work for me. The transparency appears bright white and there are no borders :/
The image remains at 76x76.
