Bummer on Blizz dropping the ball on the Banshees and Goliaths. I ended up starting from Mission 1 so I didn't run into those problems. I've only played Mission 4, but I thought it was awesome!! I'm sure the QA team is getting chewed out right now.
I played it on Brutal and had to restart a few times. I started spamming nukes and phew that helped out a lot! Still wasn't able to get the fleet beacon, but I will be playing again someday soon. Gameplay was good I thought. It had enough build a base/destroy your enemy feel to it, but I felt pressure to get the job done...which I always appreciate.
Terrain is well-done. Goliaths and Banshees look awesome. The Viking pilot cinematic was good, but holy shit the cinematic at the end of the mission was spectacular!!!!!!!!!!! I love that special guy. Also, I didn't realize you could move the briefing map around and see al the little bits of lore until this mission. That is a very nice touch by Blizz.
So the release of the 2nd mission pack of the Nova Covert-Ops campaign is out. The bnet forums, SCreddit and SC-specific youtube channels are filled with a lot of discussion on the Nova Campaign. This is a good time to shout out your favorite campaign from the CCI or hype up your own campaign. The masses want it!! Don't feel ashamed to promote your own personal project or someone else's!! I recommend either making your own thread or just responding to someone else's post.
It's interesting how the release of the packs is actually helping us attract new people to this site and creating discussion around campaigns!!
If you have time, try and play other people's campaigns/maps so you get your name out there. Folks will more likely test/give feedback if you have helped them out!
The best way to learn is to play people's campaigns and see how they did their triggering. Especially new campaigns that are one or two mission into it. You can watch as they develop and pick up tricks and ideas. Don't get ambitious on your own maps at first...especially with terrain or data. Just try to make something similar to one of your favorite Blizz maps or custom campaign maps. Heck, you can just take any of the 100 of Blizz maps and use their terrain and make you own mission on it!!
Make sure to leave feedback on custom campaigns so once you make your own maps people will want to help you out by playtesting and giving good critiques.
To get people to play your maps and leave feedback you need to play other people's maps and leave feedback! :):)
Like Delton said, there are a lot of Custom Campaigns out there. We all try and support each other, but we only have so much time to critically play a map. Having people know you and that you supported their campaigns in feedback and hype will create a reciprocal relationship!
Definitely want to spend some time on your map-page making a better layout, images maybe even a brief playthrough video...check out Annihilation or Perfect Soldiers they are the gold-standard for campaign pages.
I put you in the news section of the Custom Campaign Initiative too!!

Last time people were super pissed that there wasn't any build a base and destroy the enemy's base. Blizz just can't win!!!

Yeah as long as it has 30 missions in it, then I am down...anything less and I will riot.

GLHF!
PS I recommend Crimson Moon by Evindl as a campaign that has simple triggering, but cool terrain and story as a jumping-off point.

Yeah get your name out there and then mapmakers will know you got the insight, good critiuques, the good hype vibe and they will start recruiting you.
Just do what deltron says...also good idea to follow deltron and jayborino and discuss maps in their comments sections
