So I have a bunch of units scan-moving around the map, which I understand is the same as "attack-move," but they aren't really doing it. They are only attacking enemies that come within like 2 proximity instead of really engaging at normal range, which is usually way larger depending the the weapon, and sometimes units will turn around and leave battle when the unit they are scan-moving to gets further away. Anyone else experience this? Solution?
Scan-move is an ability usually used by units, which do not have a weapon. It is just used to simulate the attack-move command, so if you order a group of different units to attack - move, the units without a weapon don't stay behind.
If you need the attack - move behavior, just use attack - move.
I'm fairly sure that "attack move" isn't a command you can execute through an issue order action, could you go into more detail about what you mean Kueken?
Ah I see. My problem is that I'm using a unit that they kind of escort, so I need to target a unit, not a point. Unless you know of a way to attach a point to a unit?
Could you please explain how updating the order periodically helps to make the units attack everything on the way there?
I thought about issuing an attack-move command to the position of the escorted unit. This would be only to the point of the unit at the time of the order, so if the escorted unit moves, you would need to update the oder to continue your escort.

Also, wouldn't issuing a move command just make them move to the point while ignoring any enemies?
Issuing a move command on an allied unit causes your unit to move with the target and attack nearby enemies, when the target idles.

You can issue "attack" on a point target, which is attack - move ;)

You could update the order periodically or issue a Move command to the unit.
