the opening screen for my mod heptacraft looks all messed up for korean players:
normal opening screen:
korean opening screen:
i use different styles for these elements - the big one is MultiplayerLoadingPanelMapMode, the smaller ones are PurchasePanelCredits. both look different on the korean version apparently
so i really have to switch to pictures or is there a way to fix this?
It's because your fonts have different alignments.... in the font editor you can edit them and create new ones (so you can make sure they all adjust to upper left, lower right, middle, etc). Apparently in Korean they have changed the adjustment of in-game font based on display language. Not sure if Korean is read right to left but that might be the cause for it if so, so it makes sense. You might try making your own fonts from scratch in the font editor and creating your own alignment
how do i define my own font styles / where do i find the font editor?
its not only alignment tho - as you can see in american version there are no spaces between the -- so it makes a solid line, while in korean it looks like - - - - -
F8 in the editor, then click over to Font Styles tab :)
If the translation is messing up the dashes, I'd recommend just dropping them unless you have a Korean who can help you test a bunch of iterations to tweak and correct what works and what doesn't. Personally, I would just create text in photoshop or another photo editor software and save it as a big .dds file and put that into the UI

That's what I ended up doing on my loading screens and never looked back ()
The SC2 fonts don't offer much variety anyway and you can't do bolds or italics

FYI you can import and use custom fonts.
