If all you want is for units to give resources when killed, go to the units tab in your data editor, then go to Combat: Kill Resource + , can set your minerals/gas/terrazine/etc using that.
For dropping actual items, might refer to the last half of OneTwoSC's complete hero tutorial on youtube, should show how that works pretty good.
What do you mean with "units drop vespene"? Kill bounty? Constantly generate resources? And income as in a simple constant income of resources every now and again?
Income:
Use a periodic event (Every X seconds), then pick each player and "modify player property" and make it add how much ever resources you want. Use variable arrays if you want the number to change throughout the game.
Kill bounty:
Check the units tab in the data editor, there's a field called "kill reward" or something.
If you want a certain unit type to constantly generate resources, you can do it either with triggers (Periodic event, Pick Each unit in unit group (Units in region matching condition) + modify player property) or create a "Modify Player" effect in the data editor that increases resource by how much ever you want, then create a buff behavior that uses the modify player effect as its "Periodic effect" and set it's "Period" to whatever time you want, then go to the units tab, find the unit type you want and open the "Behaviors" field and add that behavior.
If none of these suggestions help you, please go into more detail with your question. I could list you a ton of different income systems, an a lot more if units are actually supposed to drop crates of vespene gas that can be harvested through various methods. Being vague when asking questions about the editor is not a good thing.
