I'm using the "Rescue Unit Group" action to change the ownership of a group of units to another player. The problem is that the action seems to cancel the orders of all the being "rescued" (which is undesirable). Is there something I'm missing? How can I preserve the units' orders?
Its not that the rescuing changes cancels all the orders, but its because most abilities (including move/attack/hold I believe) have the flag - Abort on Alliance Change, enabled.
you can untick that easily if you have certain abilities that do not want to be cancelled.
otherwise you will have to re-order them manually via triggers.

As far as I know only way is to give orders again when unit ownership changes.
