I am fairly new to the editor and watched a few tutorials on terrain editing. So after messing around in the editor I made a giant mountain with a road that leads up to it. After a few hours of smoothing it out, texturing, placing down the roads, etc., I went to test it and it was completely fine, but I forgot about the foliage I had generated previously. So I removed all the foliage in the areas I made un-pathable. Since then, when I test the document the road I pathed on the mountain is broken up with the sand texture visible because the road goes invisible in some areas, and some parts of the road is lifted from the ground units walk through the low quality road that isn't laid on the actual mountain, and still follows like the actual smoothed out terrain I made. But it's weird, because when I test the map again, before I touch any terrain in the editor, it looks completely how I want it. I'm wondering if this is an editor problem and it won't be a big deal if the map were to be published or was there something I did that caused this to happen and that I could fix.
Yeah, sorry. Describing my problem was difficult for me and figured it didn't make a lot of sense, and this being an uncommon problem doesn't help it ha ha. But the first attached picture is how it should look. Then if I test the map a 2nd time, I get the latter images. I moved the zergling to see that he's just running through the road.
Seems to be some kind of graphics problem indeed. Have you tried fiddling with your graphics options? Other than that, I think at least part of your problem if that you put a road over terrain that is so incredibly steep - it might end up loading wrong and then the game has no idea what to do with it.
Have you tried pressing space while laying road and reposition those green arrows? I suspect that the editor might keep the old road after you smooth it and you have to update it somehow.
WOW! That actually fixed my problem. So when I pushed the selection tool(space) in the road section the green arrows of the points of my road were floating. It's funny too because the points that were floating were the exact points to the messed up road, giving it the glitched floating road. So once I moved that point, not even a hairline, it snapped back down to the terrain and my map is running correctly again. Thank you so much! But now, I'm having foliage problems >.< For some reason none of it's showing up in-game, even after removing it, generating it, placing down again, generating it it's not working. Not too sure what's going on there. Worked fine just before I edited the road.... ???
Well I feel stupid for saying this, but I figured it's better than you sitting there wasting your time trying to figure out what's wrong. Somehow my in-game graphics were turned down to low and wasn't displaying the foliage. I changed them back to my normal settings and it's all back. Thanks again for the help everyone.

Sounds like some kind of graphics bug. Toss us some screenshots, I have a hard time understanding your problem.

But thanks again, SheogorathSC.
