As AlexTheComie rightly pointed out, we've had a "create the inside of a factory" WTE once before, but got no submissions for that one. This week, we'll try again to see what we can get. So unite, proletarians, and seize the "Means of Production Again" from the bourgeous terraining class, and make us all a fancy production facility!
Alright! So... "Create the inside of a factory" well, i kind of screwed up on this side if we only take what I have now. But the idea was, that this train station was actually an interior where everything gets out and land on conveyor to some more complex room with pipes and stuff. I'm just running out of time for today and even though I've not spent all my breath on this, I spent quite some time, not just 15 min. Overall I really like it.
I'd be curious to see what anyone could do starting with this :P Feel free to take the map and continue it.
Oh wow, on the 8th picture "Obedience is Safety", pure Mengsk slogan but, I have the miner model operating the cranes, the marines securing the area and the flags with the logo on the ground. It really feels like we are on Korhal with Mengsk leading haha!
Hey lads, I have a question about changing textures
Alright so in the past we could go into the data editor and change the textures a map uses by simply changing the data values. We can still do that, but as of LotV, you can't paint the new textures you've added because, I assume, the editor now places every texture when you make a map.
And you can't edit the data of a map before you make the map. I don't want to use texture sets because that's wasteful - since I plan on using them for other things.
Edit: Solution - Restart the editor. What a waste of time, that takes whole seconds!
Edit 2: Follow up question - does anyone know of any big and deep round terran doodads? Something like a spaceship engine that *isn't* on would be ideal.
I just pick a tile set as always then i skin all the textures i dont want on the blend option. Then also on the blend option I add the textures as i need them or test them to see how they go with the environment im trying to crate.
If this helps I have become addicted to using this before i set up on a new project or map. This has become essential for me http://www.screference.op74.net/
go to the doodads and click to see the wonders of doodads thanks to sc2broodsc2.

Super strange, it is the otehr way for me. Before i needed to reopen the map, now it changes the texture you want dynamically.

Mhuahahahaha, you are addicted. Well.... i am too when doing mapmaking. I no more waste time searching through the list. I know most of the doodads visually, so if I want to find one I just scroll in the pictures until what I'm looking for.
But you know you could get them as files on your computer? So you can access them wherever you want even if you don't have an internet connection.
Weekly Terraining Exercise #237
Hey hey folks!

Good luck, and have fun! :)

@Scbroodsc2: Go
Interesting concept... I like it, it reminds me of the train mission where you have to destroy trains as they go by...
You must have a lot of time on yr hands to do this.
