Err, yeah, as s3rius noted: Each ability has an ability command to execute it's actions. (See: Data editor, Abilities, Abilities - Commands + area. The Execute line contains the Ability Command). This is what you want to issue to your unit targetting a point. Since abilities can have multiple ability commands, it would be too vague of a command to tell a unit to use an "ability".
It's also common for people to mistake how to issue an order targetting a point, since you gotta know where the blue ( is. XD
Off top of my head, I am betting this is giving you issues:
New Action -> search for 'script control', create Enable/Disable Script Control for <Unit>
This needs to be enabled in order for units to follow your trigger-based action orders.
