for the default unit values you could use the catalog functions as a basis.
and for the upgrades you could also use catalog values times the stage of the upgrade of a player.
but im not sure if this really works ... :-/
im also missing some smart unit stats functions such as ...
armor
sight range
and other values and for the weapons it would be also extremely useful to have functions which return the current attack damage, effect and attackspeed of a units weapon.
