edit- I don't know about the first question, but yes, the detect behavior has its own range. Just go to the behaviors
tab and copy a detect ability that already exists. Then go and click modifications+. Click on the units tab. Then search for the field called "detect". It should be at the very top and have a number in it. Change this to whatever you want. (That number is the range)
as for making range over 30, I would guess that it is a maximum buried within some line of code inside GE, and Im not sure you can go above 30 if its not letting you already.
