Some time ago I played a game of squad support on SC1, the only I ever would. Nobody has the map anymore for some reason and no one I've talked to knows it. I'd love to see it on SC2. Given enough time I could probably figure out how to wire the triggers and mod it sufficiently, but one of the main obstacles is I'm not all that great at designing/making new maps.
The concept is pretty simple, There is one player who starts out with more or less nothing, and must build a base and army from scratch. During this time, the other players select squads of units (such as infantry, anti-air, melee, etc.) and must protect the fledgling base from AI attacks. After the base is built, they must push forward into the well defended computer bases. There are 3 AI players, one of each race.
If anyone with mapping skills would like to take this project on, I would be happy to help in testing. Alternatively, if someone could provide a close replica of the Squad support 2 map from SC1 I could try to take on the rest of the project myself.
I also liked Squad support and think it was a fun UMS, but i am terrible at making any maps. If anyone who was interested in making it, here is the SC1 map of Squad support 2 if you want to see what it was.
