Casualclysm is done and I now return back to sc2 in hope of playing some nice user made single player maps, but unfortunately there is none! I hate loosing in any kind of game, so that is why I tend to like single player maps and wow! But there simply is no single player maps for starcraft 2.
How come people aren't interested in making single player maps? I for one enjoy a good single player maps much more than I do playing random custom games. There is more marine arenas on mapster than there are single player maps.. qq. Single player maps isn't to hard to make and can be made quite brilliant when one only has to think of one player.
In any case I am just blabbing atm, my question would be, why are nobody interested in making some cool singleplayer maps like the campaign ones? Don't anybody find it funny to just relax with a single player map after a horrible day laddering? :(
Well... Before buying SC2, I was the kind of guy who made singleplayer maps by dozens... I did most of them in SC1+BW to be honest, but also W3+W3FT... I'm not much of an online player (which is why I never played WoW and I'm such a noob in melee), and yet I don't feel the need to make singleplayer maps in SC2 anymore.
Actually, my first map ever with the SC2 editor was a singleplayer map (a protoss mission against loads of zergs) but I didn't finish it. I still have a project though, which would mainly be a singleplayer campaign with dozens of missions/maps... But it may take too long (especially since I don't master the editor yet), I'm pretty sure I would either need a whole team to help me, or spend 3-4 years on this... By the time it would be done, the 2 expansions will be out and I'd have to redo the entire code with the new features implemented in patches... It's kind of a loss of time, especially for a campaign most players won't know about because they only play custom games from the 3 first pages on BNet...
If Blizzard encourages mappers to create singleplayer campaigns somehow, I would probably be amongst the most thrilled by the idea.
I would totally agree with your last statement there. I have played a few singleplayer missions, and several of them gave me more joy playing than rubbish custom games on the first pages, were people just quite after 15 seconds and the game automaticly becomes ruined.
Having a epic usermade singleplayer campaign would be one of the wishes I would wish for... but yeah i guess with the popularity system in place, the creators of such maps woulnd't get any kind of attention compared to the few nexus wars copiers that gets to the front page on the popularity list.
I would also like to start such a campaign tbh, but I know if it is only me making up the stuff it'll end up an utter failure >.< wtb a team not fixed after popularity but one that goes after just spending some time creating a good singleplayer campaign :D
I started a campagin but decided to not finish it. I think blizzard will put in support for campaigns on battle net, tho. Custom single player maps are only really fun if-
1- there are a bunch tied together in a story like a campagin
2- The missions are like blizzards- each one is unique and enjoyable
3- It's a heck of a lot more fun when decisions like tech and research are included.

Project Vector is primarily planned as single player mod with a whole campaign. After alot of problems in RL progress slowed down alot, that's why there is no new development footage. Though Vector is not really starcraft at all (aside from engine and assets ;) ). After the recap is done internally we'll start searching for help in nearly all departments of development.

I'm working on a (unannounced) single-player map, as I do so hate having to depend on stupid people. It's far from finished, however.

We're working on an SP campaign right now if your interested - http://www.moddb.com/mods/project-warfare
Still pretty far off from being completed, but we've made some decent progress, and trailer coming hopefully at the end of this month.
