This game, Secret World, first made me think of Eiviyn's map magicide. Basically the game has no levels, no classes just a lot of spells and you mix and match to make your build. Basically sounds like magicide to me.
This game has a few interesting concepts but I have a feeling after a few months the servers will be empty... having multiple paradigms that can be changed at will eliminates the need to have parties or a group. You can solo missions and events. While it's a cool concept ultimate different classes encourages diversity and team work because everyone is going to basically be using the key optimal builds on it's wiki page with characters with different skins, armor, and clothing.
The idea behind it is say you get to play what you want when you want to. I'm not sure if you can switch freely but I'm hoping they make you have to have some commitment to your build, like only change builds in designated areas so that way people aren't just freely changing their builds.
But what I'm getting at is Eiviyn made magicide which basically gives you spells to make your own style of play. Now there's a game with a similar thought process.

This kind of depends on how different the bosses, encounters and objectives work, tbh. If they're diverse enough, there won't be one 'optimal build' for each class.
It's by EA Mozard... I am counting on the fact that bosses will not be all of that diverse and most spells will be exactly the same only re=colored or effect animation skins.
Oh, it's EA? Yeah, in that case I'll be counting on the game being half-decent but shitting all over itself at some point since it was released ahead of time with a nazi securom protection for 65 bucks.
Not really sure if Eiviyn is the cause of this. I am pretty sure I seen screens of that game a long time ago. They might just have happened to have similar thoughts about the same time.

I'm almost positive that both Eiviyn and the Secret World Devs are not the first people to come up with this idea/concept. What are you trying to say exactly? That Eiviyn was the first person to come up with this concept and the devs of that game clearly saw Magicide and stole his idea? How does Eiviyn deserve more/some recognition?

Carry on, then.

Eiviyn for president!
Now *that* would be interesting to see.

Maybe not or maybe Eiviyn works for the Secret World Devs and he was trying his idea for Secret World out on us.
I would vote for him.
