I posted it not to make an example of any Sc2 kickstarters, but because I thought that the majority of people here would actually be interested in supporting this project.
I'll get around to donating $20 in like a week or so ... I would love the $250 signed hard cover art book ... just don't have that money to spare atm ...
Damn, people donated U$10k for it. But with a team like that, Megaman fans can be 100% sure the game will be awesome, and those rewards are amazing for them too.
Looks like it will stay true to classic Megaman which will be cool. I hope they improve upon the formula as well. A lot of the recent good remakes of games added upon them.
Skill? They require APM. APM is not skill. Its an impuls from the CNS to forearm muscles. Forearm muscles can adapt to this kind of stress in 2/4 workouts. So basically you need 2/4 1 hr gaming sessions to addapt the muscle contractions to the game's speed. How many buttons this game uses? 10? 16? Up-down, sides, jump, attack, shift-attack... On the other hand, using APM effectively in the game is skill, yes, but I can bet my money if you give this game to any korean lol/bw or w/e "pro player", he would beat it in a few sessions with no stress, and even no stimulators like caffein, guarana, berocca, fpsbrain or any other bullshit supplements out there created as a money machine to milk the parents of degenerate see-no-real-world kids... It just makes me sad.

Wait, are you criticizing a game that hasn't even been designed yet for having high APM requirements? Also considering that APM is generally a PC term calculating keystrokes and mouse clicks, not button presses on a gamepad?
I think you're attacking the platforming genre with reasons that aren't really applicable. It isn't even a Hack-and-Slash, and even then those kind of games don't require crazy APM or button mashing, they're more about reflex and timing. It's not like a Fighting game where you have to string endless comboes together, memorizing all the button comboes. Platforming games are generally much more simple than that, and the challenge comes from maneuvering through the levels while avoiding enemy attacks; and figuring out boss patterns or weaknesses and exploiting them.
The kickstarter is really, really well done. If the game is half as good as it looks on KS, it will be amazing.
Platform games are about patience, reflexes and memorization. Mostly, though, it's about exploring a world at high speed, from art to mechanics to the bad guy.
I'm excited to read a review ad buy the finished product. I'm too poor to back anything atm.

I will never understand how people can like these kind of games... Especially hack and slash games, like most of the bs on ps or xbox.
like most.......... You do see what you are saying here, most the games are this way, obviously they are popular/money makers. It is fine not to understand why people enjoy something, calling them bullshit because of it though is another matter. I can't personally understand how anyone can enjoy board games or ANY sporting title, but it doesn't make them bullshit people, just people with different tastes. Yet somehow, every year, there is a new Madden game, whether I understand it or not :)
Is a very good reason hack and slash are so popular anyways.... Everyone wants to be a ninja/batman/putherohere. You'd probably have something bad to say about the original NES contra/ninja gaiden, monster!

yeah this is a pretty cool looking project, I saw this a couple days ago on a Pax video.

I loved Megaman on my Nintendo! This looks like a lot of great nostalgia packed into one game that's fantastic.
