My lobby has two teams: one has 4 Terran players, one has 2 Zerg players. I want to separate the teams so the terrans are allied with each other and player 14, and the zerg are allied with each other and with player 15. But since player # is based on join order and not lobby choice, it not worky. If you host and go to the zerg team, you will still be player 1 and thus a terran.
Is it possible in any way to detect which team people are on in the lobby? I did a search but it seems the solution is 'Blizzard will fix it', which I refuse to believe.
Also, is it possible to make this 4v2 team arrangement the default, rather than something you (fail to) pick during game creation?
I suppose this answers the second question? I did that and it set the regular game mode as default so you have to pick the other 'other' all the time.
Or do you mean this can help me arrange the teams? How do I read this information with triggers so I know if player 2 goes on the zerg team in the lobby, he's a zerg player?
with the game variants your able to force player 2 into team 2.
you can setup something like:
1 -> 1
2 -> 2
3 -> 1
4 -> 1
5 -> 2
6 -> 1
by forcing player into grps there is no need to check in which team they are, you simply know it^^
But isn't this backwards? Instead of recognising on which team people want to be, you simply force them into a team they may not want to be in. I dunno... :(
Come on, this is 2010, it can't be impossible to just detect somehow whether player x went into team 1 or team 2 at the lobby!

Yea, it's pretty stupid how even StarCraft handled the lobby and players better with the ability to make forces and put exactly which player numbers you want in them and that's how it would show up in the lobby and how players corresponded to slots.

@BrotherLaz: Go
Map > Game Variants should help you

Right?! .... :(
welcome to activision-blizzard
@BrotherLaz: Go If I remember this correctly you're still able to swap slots in the lobby even if the players are 'forced' into teams.
Nope

Bnet 2.0 just sucks at everything.
I have a same problem. In my games, loby computer 13, 14 should be 13, 14 player in the game, but they wouldn't.
what can I do?
