I've searched all around the forums and data editor and it seems like it is impossible to change the bulky water tile size away from its default? That seems a little strange that such a basic thing would not be possible, so I'm sure I just cant find it. Does anyone know? Literally anyone since when I searched the forums for water I found multiple threads asking this question with no replies.
It appears that water tile sizes are indeed hard-coded(8x8 cells), actual geometry for water etc is a huge single plane (I'll assume 256x256) so there's no correlation there.
unfortunately the water is Un-resizeable (as far as i know) BUT! if you use the Edit water option and reduce the "Height" of the water you can usually accomplish what you want just make a lowered spot in the terrain where you want the water to fill and then set the height of the water to match and make sure the edges of the water are covered by the terrain. but im sure that eventually blizzard must give us a way to change out water size.

I am incredibly interested in an answer to this as well. Water is so basic and i can't believe a resizing ability doesn't exist.
