hey all, firstly i would like to say that i've seen some your tutorials and they are really really good.
i've been fiddling with the war3 editor and it was pretty simple to use but then the editor for starcraft 2 is kinda messed up >.<
i do realise that it's alot easier to use for those who have backgrounds in C but most of us dont :(
i have a question as i would like to create some units/heroes from scratch using the unit models. however i realised that when i create a new unit in the data editor, i cant find the "model" option.. meaning that my units have no models at all.
i saw bifuu's tut but it only shows how to make doodads
does that mean that i have to make a doodad, then set the actor ( which is model? i tot actor was for the voice/sounds the unit makes) as the doodad??
the Actor controls the visual aspect of every thing in the game, including missiles, explosions, and everything else.
What you'll want to do is A) look through some of the tutorials about actors and B) take a look at a unit/actor already in the game. Go find the Marine actor and take a look at everything in there, ESPECIALLY events (events is where you'll do most of your work with actors).
