I've noticed that different tile sets result in different doodads. Currently my map is using a Xil-based tile set, so the environment is wasteland. I'd like to be able to place doodads that use the jungle environment, but I haven't found a way to do it. I would simply switch to a different base environment, but another region of the map requires doodads from the wasteland environment. Any advice on creating actors/models/something so that I can use different environmental effects on a map's doodads?
Hmm... I tried what you're suggesting, but there isn't an actor specifically associated with the Jungle Rock Arch. There's just a single entry: "Rock Arch." I can change the related tilesets but it doesn't seem to have any effect on what appears when I place a Rock Arch on the map. I've tried several things and I still get the Wasteland Rock Arch
i'm working with XLIIVI, just posting that we've solved the problem. Partly the reason we had trouble coudl be because XLIIVI has a glitchy editor, or that the editor in genearl is glitchy. Anyways, it's simple: all you need to do is change the tileset in map ->map textures back to the tileset's doodads you want it, then u just replace the textures with your own in data editor.
Unfortunetely it doesn't seem like you can have custom doodads or ones with certain effects and ones without. Seems a bit arbtirary to include so much data editor and limit the terrain though. Even with only allowing 8 textures, anyone know why Blizzard might ahve done that? I mean they've already placed some size limits on the map, that seems like it would be enough.

goto the actor of the doodad you want to make available,
goto the field Actor - Texture Tilesets
and modify that to include what youre using.
i hope this helps
