I've been trying to work out how to do a couple different things, and so I downloaded some maps that people posted as examples.
But unfortunately sometimes basically all the trigger data appears Blank. All Trigger Names and Variable Names, which makes it near impossible to navigate and figure it out, especially when you don't know which variables are which.
For some reason the map still functions, but if I try to copy any of the data is breaks down, presumably because the variables have no names.

Does anyone know what causes this? Is the fault with me or the map maker? (ie. Is there someway I can fix this or do I have to try and get the maker to fix it?)
My guess would be that is has to do with this Localization thing that I keep hearing about. But I don't really know what that is beyond the speculation that it is when you "localize" all the data so it is all stored in the maps, not that I know how to do it.
That's happened to me quite a few times also. I always figured it was some form of map protection, albeit it's not exactly protection...just inconvenience.
No, these people posted them specifically as example maps. It is definitely not protection.
Additionally I believe the same thing causes custom strings in the in game UI to not display properly it shows this whole string that goes something like "paramvalue/54GH12/....". So that would be pretty stupid protection.
Localization for custom trigger / variable names. This can also happen with data editor entry. Pretty much everything you could name is localized. Data editor entry has underlying name so it's not a big deal. But trigger do not :(
localization is due to different language / map editor versions. example, people with a german eu editor upload an examply, well your editor is only made to open up 'english' and when theres german variables coming through it cant recognize them. localizing your map just adds functionality for all the language bases of the different editor versions from around the globe. i believe that sums it up for the most part....

Localization maybe?
