hello am new to the map editor and have never used the warcraft 3 one

when i go to create a unit lets just say a marine called bob i first of search for marine right click duplicate and tick all the box's and when i go to place that unit down its just a white blob help please. :D

Instead of doing it that way

Do it this way

• Units tab >>
• hit ctrl + = (this will open new object box)
• name your unit in the first box
• hit suggest
• set object family to melee
• set your race and unit type
• click copy from radial and set it to what unit you want to copy

• after that click on the actors tab
• hit ctrl + = (this will open new object box)
• name the unit as you did before
• hit suggest
• under actor type set it to unit ( down at the bottom )
• set based on to genericunitbase
• doodad type to notadoodad
• and then copy from and the unit your copying from again

Once you're in the Data Editor, there's a dropdown menu near the top. Click it and scroll to Actors, it'll bring up a new tab for you.
