I sat down for an hour the other day not knowing how I would do this though I know its possible in the editor. Instead of normal FPS where you move around in an area what if the area moved around you. I set up a straight hall way with terrain and panned the camera to a low level FPS angle. What I wanted to do was to simulate walking forward, such as when you press W the objects in the room would come at you and fade off as if you were walking down a hall way. I did not find any triggers dealing with moving doodads, such as moving a barrel or lights. I could not find a trigger to create a doodad anywhere (I tried create models/actors but under "Values" doodads do not show up). Anyone know?
you could make the doodad a unit by creating a unit and actor and change the actor's model to the doodad model u wanted.
So you could make a vines unit(or any other doodad) which can be moved.
Hope this helps alittle to solve one of your problems. It would be a lot easier moving the character through the level rather than the world around you(isnt it kinda the same thing?) but good luck with your idea.
There isn't currently a way to move just actors / doodads, they have to be units. Even if you accomplished converting all doodads to units, there still wouldn't be a way that I know of to move the actual terrain. Like stated earlier, it seems like a rather impractical idea as compared to moving a unit through the world.
