I was hoping to release a map today but when I did a few internal tests I could MANY broken things and have been working hard to fix them but one of them just dosen't want to work for me.. Basicly I have a buncha units that can be upgraded into a more powerful version of themselves, what the issue is the button to morph them into their advanced version the costs are messed up, some are like -20 Minerals and -150 gas and such, but the weird thing is that it charges the correct amount of minerals(what I want the cost to be) if you would click the upgrade. I'm pretty stumped about this right now.. Don't know if anyone else is having the same issue sorry if this is answered elsewhere.
Not sure if this answers your question, but the game might be reading the unit's cost from 2 different sources and stacking them. I had a similar issue with my map. In the data editor my unit has a cost set for it, I also have a shop that sells this unit. The shop uses a "Train" ability which allows me to set the cost of what units it trains. Since the game was patched, these two values are now stacked. Your situation sounds slightly different. Im guessing the buttons you used are linked to abilities that upgrade your units. Check those abilities to see if they have any cost associated.
I managed to fix all the costs from the training place, but the costs of the Morph is messed up, I don't know if theres something i'm missing but I went over and deleted the costs and put them all into 1 area but still have this weird costs listed, but still charges the amount I set. It's really strange i'm thinking there may be a hidden cost somewhere.. going to try and redo a few and see what happens.
I found that the hidden cost that is "reported" (which obviously is untrue since the upgrade is still the cost that it was intended to be) is somehow connected to the actual unit itself.
For example, I tried upgrading a photon cannon (created from scratch, not the original Photon Cannon object) for 10 minerals to a stronger version, but the tooltip recorded a cost of -140. If I went into the original Photon Cannon which is still unedited and changed the cost to 150, the tooltip for my upgrade would appear accurately. (Of course this has no change in gameplay).
I'm not sure where the connection is, but this did fix my problem, which I think is the same one you have. I suspect it must be from a shared actor or something...
