I basically copied a Pylon, also copied its actor and linked it back to the copied Pylon. Let's call this copied Pylon "Pylon2". (I also disabled it from showing the power grid).
I intent to use this pylon as a way to send waves of enemies. That is I want it to have a button, which can be clicked, which will then trigger an event (or something). The problem is the button won't even show.
I made myself a new button (I only set the race, after I clicked add object). Afterwards I set the alert icon and the button icon both to the protoss charge button ability.
I then went to the Pylon2's unit commands, and added this button. I told it it was a submenu button with as command card 2. (There is nothing in that command card, I just want to make the button show up for now...)
I use command card 1 for the ability. I'm just trying to get the icon to display before I start working on any events I want to tie to it. In order to get it to display I told it it was a submenu, which in my eyes means it will make the icon display no questions asked. (Since I already noticed that if the abilities tied to a button are wonky, it own't display either).
Was the button in CC2 valid? Make sure it is (make the exact same button on CC1) from what I can tell there's nothing left to change to make it show up, buttons are pretty simple compared to everything else in the editor :/

It's still not showing, what am I missing?
Maybe use Command Card 1? Or are you already able to switch?

Try putting a button on CC 2, maybe it has some kind of appearance condition? meaning it will only show up if there's actually something in CC2?

is sub menu 2 empty?
if so it may not show the sub menu selector.
I tried putting a button in Command Card #2, to no avail. Nothing still is showing.
Perhaps you have a suggestion on what I can put there [on the button itself] to ensure it will show?
I finally managed to show it greyed out by making it a passive: Raynor - Radar.
This sure is a pain, now to find some way to link it to a trigger or something, sigh.

make sure the units [flag] uncommandable is not checked
the button needs to have a valid ability linked to it i believe
all requirements for the button and the linked ability must also be true for it to show
