@ Vophsix - Nice idea, but the "stream" option it not always available, for what reasons I am not sure but it wasn't for me.
However, I added the Pre-load sound option to the trigger I had made to start the soundtrack for the map. This did not fully solve the problem, but definatly helped! The lag spike caused is not nearly as bad as before, but is unfortunatly still there.
Depending on the length (and respectivly size) of the audio file, is probably what effects the lag since: bigger file=more to load. Therefore a small bit of lag might always occur. This is the case as I have seen in other maps as well, such as "I Made A Game With Zombies in It!" so we are definatly not alone.
Old post I know, but others may stumble upon this thread, so here goes: I had a lag spike of about a second for a 2,5 mb song and for me the issues was solved 100% when I clicked the stream option.
Again, old... but important! Didn't helpt me much, but if you use the "play sound/soundtrack" action and specify the sound directly (not using a vaiable or function) it is preloaded and no lag occurs at all. Unfortunatly, if you have many sounds to play this is kind of a dirty way and the "preload sound" action doesn't help somehow...
WOW, no one mentioned that enabling the stream method strippes you of the power to play the sound more than once at the same time, this really sucks!
Whenever i play a soundtrack with an imported sound, a lagspike occurs. It also happens with some ingame sounds... Anyone know why??
my guess is that you have a on-board sound system.
Try using the action: Preload Sound
and also try ticking the "Stream" box on the sound in the data editor
@ edcbabe - u dun mak a da sence
