I hope all of you enjoyed the Sartcraft I and II story so far and some of you might have read the Starcraft-Books
to expierence the whole SC-Universe. Well, once upon a time (i guess some weeks ago ) there was a group of
some starcraftfans saying to themselves: "hey, would'nt it be awesome to have some content aside from the main Story,
in the actual SC2 game?". And of ofc it would be, so these SC-Fans started the "Irongate-Project".
Irongate is/will be a mod vor the SC2 game parted into 3 chapters with severel hours content each.
This mod shows the consequences of the conflicts happening in the Starcraft-Campaign through the eyes of
an average colonist on the planet Moria. The main character "Jonathan M. Hendriks" is just an average person
in the world of starcraft 2. Your parents went missing years ago and your sister was responsible for you the
whole time. Now that you are an adult, she left you too in order to live her dreams. You can't complain though, since
you have a job, food, friends and a roof right over your head...until that faithful day...
This mod won't be just any custom map, it will be a whole game with in the game. Beside the open world city, Jonathan
lives in, there are several genre-mixtures in this mod. You will have some RTS Gameplay, RPG elements and even life simulation.
The campaign will focus very
hard on the plot to keep you entertained, while a completely new, selfcomposed soundtrack will hold the tention.
Curious? Check out our homepage for more information. Take a look on the soundtrack and the city you'll live in.
Or just ask the questions here in this very forum.
Would really love to see this whole idea come to fruition, I'm tired of seeing good ideas set to the back burner and/or never finished. That being said, I think it would be a good idea to flesh out your site a little more too, maybe get at least a few screenshots. Interested to see how you mesh all the different game genres together.
1. Great, another awesome sounding project that'll never finish.
2. Hmm, they're actually going well with this already. Making headway it seems.
3. Shit, this looks pretty cash.
4. This is basically what I've wanted to create since my days in the WarCraft 2 editor.
You should turn the pick-axe and claw into a decal for players seems like that's what it is. Looks pretty sweet I'm excited for a project that might actully finish.
well, well, what do we have here?
I introduce 3 new features to you:
The first one is the "P.L.A."
It's your smartphone-pda-computer-thingy. :D
The PLA shows your stats (as you know them from the most RPGs), your inventory and you can fast-travel with it (by calling a taxi).
The second one (and my personal favorite) is, that you will be able to go into buildings where you can look around in the ego-perspective.
Imagine it like the good ol' point and click adventures, where you move from one picture to the next and interact with objects by clicking on it.
And the third feature is/are ingame portraits of the main characters (all of the characters are those awesome people, who put their effort in this project).
As a proof, that these features are actually in the game, you can see them in this video:
Note, that this is pre-pre-pre-Alpha. :D The whole design will be overhauled in the process. :)
This is very interesting. The P.L.A. system seems cool and well integrated.
I also like the building interiors idea, reminds me a bit of the Hyperion in the SCII campaign. Not much to see for it at this point but I like how it looks.
I like the portraits. Are they/will they be animated?

I guess the portraits won't be animated, since they are just photoshopped. Multiple portraits with different facial expressions could be possible, though.
Just on casual inspection, the site and promo videos look promising, but also are in pre-alpha stages.
If you intend on doing an English site/release, you should consider having a native speaker finalize some (most) of your translations. While I have no doubt it would be flawless in German, typos and obscure sentences really unravel a lot of the work that this team is pouring into the concept. I was reading through the descriptions and back story area, and I kept getting sidetracked by this. Again, while I understand this is probably an issue that is "lost in translation", so to speak, it really undermines your hard work. Pun intended.
Having said that, I'm going to use the contact information on your site to pass along my information. This is a project I would love to help test, and could also render some services in the translation department.
Hello guys, it's me again. :D
It's been a while, hasn't it?
We started to work on the first quests in the game and we didn't feel like we had enough stuff for some major announcements.
We didn't talk about the main story or questing system either and i guess there are many questions to ask.
So what we gonna do, is to answer YOUR questions about us, about the game, about everything related to the project.
First of all, you'll need to post your questions in this forum. As soon as we have enough stuff to answer to, we
are going to make an FAQ-Video just for you.
So, here you go, ask us anything. :)
Oh, look at this: we got new character portraits, you should definitly go to the characters-section of our website and ch-ch-check them out.

Update: Today we recorded the voices and soundsamples of the main characters as well as the opening cutscene. :)
Update: There will be a trailer this weekend.
aaaand here it is! da trailaa. :D
Nice. Do you have any voice samples? How far in development are you?
(Relevant) thoughts I had, chronologically:
1. Great, another awesome sounding project that'll never finish.
2. Hmm, they're actually going well with this already. Making headway it seems.
3. Shit, this looks pretty cash.
4. This is basically what I've wanted to create since my days in the WarCraft 2 editor.

woaaah. I just looked into my virtual stash, look what i found in there:
Have fun with two tracks of the Irongate OST: Irongate City:
Something's wrong:
Inspired by Mass Effect much? Sounding pretty good, be it a tad repetitive. Still interested in this project.
Thought the same exact thing. :P

The PLA button will cause problems for 4x3 resolutions as it will appear above the portrait.
Other than that, cool stuff. :)

tell me, if you don't get an answer via contact information. I can give your request directly to the head of this project. :D

How many characters will there be? Are there more to come, still, or are the ones on the list all there will be?
What will battling be like? Regular SCII or something new?
Sorry if these questions have already been answered.
