What is Explodeathon?
Explodeathon is a fast paced Tug of War style map. Being a 4 player FFA map, with the average game lasting only 20 minutes, it is ideal for when you are short on time, or just want a quick game.
How is Explodeathon different from other ToW maps?
Explodeathon emphasizes fast paced, intense, strategic gameplay. In a game such as Desert Strike, you can leave for 5 minutes and come back, and still be more than okay. With Explodeathon, that is not the case. Explodeathon is one of the few Tug of War style maps that keeps you on your toes.
How does Explodeathon do this?
Every 8 minutes, there is a rotation. Rotations switch which enemy your attacking army spawns at. All of your spawning buildings are reset and destroyed, allowing you a fresh start.
The rotation is so annoying! Why can't I just keep my units!?!
It takes time to get used to the rotations. They can be frustrating at first, but once you learn how to use them to your advantage and understand the strategy behind them, they become essential and expected.
Also, the reset allows for fast paced gameplay, without the large amounts of lag and annoyingly large armies.
I searched Explodeathon on Google and all I found was a flash game. You copied!
Yes. Yes I did. However, the maker of the original Explodeathon is actually my best friend IRL. In fact, I actually helped him come up with the name way back when.

One Last Note
I don't intend on this being a huge game. It was a small project that I made, because I had the idea and thought it would be fun to play. I have no dreams of becoming the next Desert Strike, only dreams of finding a small community who enjoys my map as I do.
Explodeathon is growing in every way but popularity! I need people to play the game and report back here what they think.
Explodeathon works with AI, so if you don't feel like waiting for a lobby (Average wait time is usually 2-7 minutes for a full house) you can play with computers.

So I played it a few times and the some units like the custom hydra and zealot are ridiculously strong for their costs. Also it would be nice if it would actually say that my spawners get removed and my minerals get deducted with the rotation. I think the spawn area should be behind the HQ, what currently happens when cannons are destroyed and the enemy is attacking my HQ is that half of my spawned army is going to kill them, while the other half is going downwards. Also I donĀ“t think it would hurt giving the HQ a weapon.
What is the purpose of vespene and why are my resources shown on the leaderboard? I don't want my opponents to know how much I have.
Also the map needs polishing(terrain, tooltips, placement models and I even think I saw a param/value in there somewhere) and I think that an increase to 6 player would also be more interesting.
And finally, when I'm observing after defeat, I'd love to see enemy cloaked units.
I will most definitely look int giving the base a weapon. The army spawns as it does because spawning behind the Headquarters would cause a break in formation. I'm not saying that's a good thing, I'm just explaining the thought process.
Vespene is converted into bonus minerals at the start of a new rotation. Resources are displayed on the leaderboard because it allows you to have a general idea of what your enemy might be building, and you might want to counter it.
As for the last part, very good idea. I will do that with the next patch.
