So i'm trying to make custom terrain by editing for example the Aiur-Urban Terrain files, (I tried to test this by using SC1 textures and importing them and replacing the Aiur texture files)
But for some reason it just doesn't work, my other custom textures for units/buildings/buttons work great, but the terrain ones just won't show up, what am I doing wrong?
Ok, so you're editing the DDS files directly, the re-importing them in the same place, directory-structure, wise? And when you say they don't show up, do you mean that the textures remain unchanged?
- make sure you're saving the texture as DXT5
- follow Blizzard's normal map format like in the link. The texture will be all fucked up if your normal map isn't right or if you don't even have one. It's not like replacing units/buildings/buttons.

How exactly are you editing the files?
@LucidIguana: Go
I'm using paint.net to edit them (which is not the problem because i've edited units/buildings/buttons with it just fine)
and i'm using the same idea of over-writing the file i want to edit (which again works for everything else I mentioned)

Yeah, both in the editor and in game, it's bizzare.
dont overwrite, just create new textures and create terrain texture data pointing to it

Thanks, man.
I'll try this.
hmm, anyway to use this for paint.net (I ain't spending 400 bucks on photoshop)
That's really useful, thanks Gradius!
