I met the guy before, talked with him about some stuff. Nice guy, smart too. Hes done quite a bit for the modding community, hell even cracked some of Valves most important secrets. Pretty sure he got banned for that reason in the first place, exploiting to get something special in game.

Either way, its still a publicity stunt, grassroots, core gamer community style. When stuff like this happens it only makes other players want to get more involved with the community. It builds trust, and loyalty too. Hell, some modders/artists get paid for donating content to Valve. Dunno, but, every time something like this happens, I feel like it looks bad for Blizzard. The whole DotA scandal looks extremely bad. Its like Blizzard is living in a bubble, unable to adapt to its surroundings, unable to be open to new trending ideas. Gaming industry is still young, and with a decayed modding community, and bored player base. Its seems quite possible for Blizz to end up like Guitar Hero. If Titan does not work out that is.
