In SCII, most people just defend until they have like 100 or almost full supply army before they attack in normal melee maps. Theres barely any micro involved except for like range units against Melee units. ( From most games i played and watched[about 100]) Or tech really high than mass and attack.
I've been watching many pro shoutcasts recently and I'm really agreeing with him. There isn't really any real micro in Starcraft 2, the battle are SO fast that really nothing can be done about it. It's really who's army is the biggest will win.
Its kinda obvious Koreans would be able to micro to the max for every unit they have because gaming is their past time, hobby, job or even their life. I'm just saying that normal people don't want to put in a bit of effort to have a bit less units and micro to win in melee games. Staying in a few bases with good defences and mass good units is easy to do, so people do that instead.
Vulture micro is equivalent to all the kinds of kiting you can do with many SC2 units like reapers, marauders, hellions. Clearly you didn't watch Idra vs Morrow.
Im clearly saying, not as small groups of people, but as a majority of people do not micro with intensity, just mass
Edit: All the examples you are giving are the type of games i want the majority of people to play like, but with a bit less intensity.
in big battles you also micro, It's not difficult if you use control groups for your units. Most typical micros in big battles are kitting, burrow attacks (roaches), casting (massive psistorms), flanking, etc. It's still the same, just that people tend to avoid it because of how things blend in 3D. In SC1 battles were easier to control because you had better visibility of what was happening.

However the map control is really important.

If you're watching shoutcasts and that's the conclusion you're coming to then you aren't watching the right ones. Micro is very important in SC2.
Definitely copper, forget bronze. Silver, gold and diamond revolves around skirmishes around the map. Rarely a large battle.
Thats why you play 4v4. You never know what will happen!
:D
I am in Gold......im not bronze or silver

when you say "right ones" you mean the (small) majority of people who do micro not mass
it depends on the progamers, some are more macro oriented like Idra and others are the cheese of the cheese.
You should look for korean games of sc2, they abuse everything and harrass with anything they have.
EDIT: look at this korean match

A micro'd army does better than an unmicro'd one.
What you call "micro" in SCBW is really "hurr i have spam apm cuz of the shitty ui"
@devilesk: Go
Well Theres actual some good micro in SCBW such as the vulture against most melee units. (Attack point move right after and repeat)
When most people "micro"a huge army, Its usualy stim, guardian shield, blink, and stuff the require only 1-2 clicks every 10-25 seconds
Im Talking about 1-2 commands every 2 or so seconds micro type of thing
Edit: Forgot to mention used this to kill like 25 zerglings before with 1 vulture until the mutalisks came D=
