I Hope it fly's like the phoenix. So many questions can be consider with this??? Does it have attack or is it just a flying ability...or both?? is it a support unit?
And some wonder what the crescent shaped UFOs are. They are the new unannounced Protoss unit! I cant see resemblance with any known unit unlike the Zerg and Terran units that had similarities with existing units. The Spikes are not typical for Protoss, should've been without them cause this looks almost zerg spikes. Not corsair for sure, some new air unit, would be surprised if this were ground.
ps2: cool name for it? => sauron
ps3 (boy was it not on par with the ps2 :) ): another air to ground attack unit? (with a new spell/specificity)
ps4: definitely dark (spikes) origin
I'm gonna bet that fires lightning-based somethings from that orb it's generating within the crescent. Corsair would probably be a really good guess, though I'm not sure how that'd tie in with the Phoenix - they'd have pretty much identical roles. It might be a less-quick heavier-type of starship.
I'm guessing a Nerazim (Dark templar) air unit. The pic Eiviyn posted is probably whatit looks like, just that I think it would be silver instead of gold and green instead of blue.

Whoever does these color in use generic looking patterns. But I don't think that's what blizzard's going for on these. I really doubt this is a corsair, why does everyone say that, or a phoenix morph. From the electrical discharge I'm thinking something along the lines of reaver air unit or something. I'm happy we're getting an air unit. I'll be mad if this ends up a floating ground unit like the sentry.
Unlike you guys, I'm wondering if that circle isnt just for nothing. Have you ever thought that it might fire downwards? And look at the space at the front of the ship. There's no room to fire its attack towards the front because just look at that tiny space right there. Perhaps the attack is instant and is like what you said kind of like the corsair, but I'm saying and willing to bet that it fires straight down. However, we'll have to see when the silhouette is revealed.
I would be even happier if they made something useful out of Carriers instead... As it is now, I never use Carriers anymore when I play Protoss because they're pretty much pointless. I used to build a lot of them when I was in the training league though, while toying with really bad players... but I can't remember watching any replay from pro players using them efficiently. They would rather use the Mothership instead. I'm pretty sure Protoss don't need more air units, they already have the strongest fleet of all races. I'm kind of disappointed with this new unit, I would have expected a heavy infantry or to have the Reaver back... anything on the ground, actually.
@Yukaboy: What makes you think it can actually fire? Infestors and High Templars don't attack either, and they're strong enough as it is... ;)
Now after Eiviyn said it Im thinking shield battery! OMG how game changing would it be if this thing could heal protoss shields!!! If it does, I also hope it has a small attack, instead of just utility.
Hrm, I think Protoss definitely needs more OP looking air units.
I was wondering if this could be from the robotics bay, like a reaver 2.0.

Alternate morph for phoenix which works like a shield battery.
