I read the SC2 BW thread on team liquid; its not what I am talking about, and I'm not sure how close the micro for the units are to the original. If it ends up being almost exactly like BW in that respect it may work, but I'd still be interested in the answers to my questions.
Essentially trying to port the attached file BW->SC2
look for sc2bw on the search engine to get a shitload of links about it (that will i think lead you to all that has been done/tried (and has been advertised) so far)
Maverck is trying to get it as close to star1 as possible within star2, although the whole idea comes with a lot of fans/peeps concerned.
i'm no expert, but what you seem to be asking is not possible... galaxy is a 2010 product, it can in no way accept star1 from 1998.
Galaxy will accept certain imports from it, it will accept certain changes to its engine to try to emulate its predecessor but it seems reluctant on many an issue.
After all this time since its beta, Maverck (and others) still declares that he's not satisfied with the result (they/he) have gotten to .. still far from the original...
i personally love the effort all the mapmakers have gave this tribute <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3 star1 forever lives thanks to them

Actually, some guy imported all the models from StarCraft Broodwar and made a custom map in Warcraft III.
I wonder if you could do the same with SC2...

Seeing Starcraft 1 was sprites and Wc3 was polygon models, yeah, makes perfect sense all he did was import the models into wc3 ... /facepalm
