That's right- a recent update to Heart of the Swarm just added AI's that communicate with you when you're on the same team. You can set your AI's build order using an in-game build-order-picker to choose from a few different opening and late-game strategies. The higher the AI's difficulty setting, the more advanced build orders or strategies it can be ordered to use. And for those who are concerned, you can still let the AI do it's own thing without orders from you, if you'd like. You can also give the AI orders like Attack, defend, scout, get detection, and expand.
Perhaps the most interesting feature is that the AI's will now actually talk to you. You'll hear the AI's voice say "I'm going to expand here" and see it ping the map- you might here it say "I've spotted some enemy mutalisks here". The AI will also let you know what it's building and when.
@zeldarules28: Go I wanted it ever since SC1. I used to play a lot of free-for-alls and team matches with AI only, and I always wanted to coordinate with my AI allies. This is a dream come true XD
I just tested it out myself- it's super weird to hear your ally say "I found an enemy zerg base here". You can see my AI command panel down in the bottom right in this screenshot.

Same. The voices of kerrigan, zealot and raynor are awesome
So I tried it. The commands are simple and the AI is way more helpful now. But the early game and late game build options don't mix well and their army may end not being what you wanted from them. The system is great and I hope they add more options to it later.

This definitely looks like a cool feature- any of you melee players care to share your thoughts?

Holy crap, this is totally cool. Now people can play only controlling AI. LOL.
EDIT: I see Mount & Blade Warband arcade games coming due to this update.
sooo can they micro now?
Best week ever for SC2, they just dump all the cool little features they've worked on for the last years for us to generate hype
Well Red Alert 3 more or less let you order around AIs, so it's high time SC2 had this functionality.
Getting those team AI achievements would be less of a coinflip per game as well.
