Alright people my computer is pretty bad and apparently it falls short of the minimum requirements by quite alot. However, I can run the game with zero lag at 30 FPS on Medium - High settings when running maps from the editor. I get hardly 5 FPS when connected to Battle.net whether offline or online...
If you are having performance issues since 3.0 then you might want to check whether your sc2 client runs in 32 or 64-bit mode. I had to change from 64 to 32, since 64 runs significantly worse for me, too.
Heres the extreme solution: go to sc2 variables txt, set it to read only and before add bitdepth=16 and make the shadow mapsize 128 or 64, sometimes it changes by itself duno why so u should check everytime u start sc2. This should give around a 50-100% fps bost. Ik the struggle i had with my dirt cheap amd apu, if u have a bad cpu ure in a bad spot, if u want the cheapest cpu for extreme settings and no lag get the i3 4170, 160 fps with it.
Performance has definitely been weaker since the 3.0 update. I run a lot of maps which have tons of units and the engine just doesn't seem to handle that as well anymore. Where before it was fine, now it's noticeably slower. Not much, but enough to make a difference.

Performancewent to shit for me since the Nova udate, and I have a PC from the future (at least compared to what I used to have)
