since upgrading my install with Patch 1.5 I have come across a few bugs in my map, firstly:
1. All of my custom models are now HOT PINK when viewed in-game, but they still look fine in the editor, and looked fine in-game prior to this patch.
2. All of my bunkers now have a shrike turret even when they don't have the shrike turret behavior, and when that behavior is added the shrike turret does not work - even though this did work prior to 1.5, ugh.
I'm mostly concerned about issue #1, and if anyone has any insight it would be greatly appreciated.
That looks like a texture issue. When models can't find the texture that wraps around them, they show pink. Those look like custom models to me- are they? (I can't quite tell if those are a regular unit from a weird angle, or custom models). If so, delete the models and re-import them into the map. If not, then I'm not quite as sure...
I am under the awkward impression that Blizzard did this to:
1. Prevent us from replacing their own textures (Such as Thrikodias/Forsworne's recolors)
2. Break maps with custom models to force all their authors to re-publish the maps for 1.5
3. Ruin melee mods, to avoid them competing with HotS and SCBW. Also probably the reason why they didn't release the mod tools yet.
I hope I am wrong, but it's hard to feel otherwise. Such a change seems really unnecessary, especially when the 3DS Max Plugins (AKA Startools) haven't been released yet.
Upon further investigation - this is only happening for my custom models that use existing Blizzard textures (such as the Mutalisk wings model, and those mini-Vikings). Other units I have that actually have their own custom texture are working fine.
I'm still a little confused. I am having the same issue where one of my custom models is appearing pink in game, but is fine in the editor. Did we figure out a way to fix this? I'm still learning and read everything that has been posted but still can't find a solution :(
So I changed the graphics in game as suggested and the model works now. The graphics need to be set on high or above otherwise the model will be all pink.
Does anyone know why this would happen? I'd ideally like people to play the game on medium or higher graphics... what determines whether the model requires high or above graphics?
I have a similar problem. A custom model that uses SC2 textures shows as reddish in the editor. It looks like normal texture is applied, but diffuse and emissive are not. I haven't tested it in game because I really need to take some screenshots from the editor and I can't.
@Batomys: Go I dont want a screenshot with terrain, I want a screenshot with no background, that's why I use the model previewer/custcene editor. Has anyone got word from Blizzard about it? This is fucking stupid.
Oddly enough, I am getting the same problem after switching to a different computer which has maximum graphics settings. Both in the editor and in game, all of my custom models are pink. Only in the cutscene editor, if I set Render->Shader Mode to "Diffuse Only", can I see the correct textures. On both computers, I have SC2 version 1.5.3.
That is strange, 1.5.3 actually fixed this issue for me, I didn't have to do anything on my end and now my model textures appear correct on any shader setting. Thanks Blizzard :)
I've narrowed the problem down to having the "Shader" setting on "Ultra". The textures all show up if it is on "High". I suspect that this is actually a problem with my model, which I exported using a modification of println's m3addon.

Tried changing graphic settings to the one the editor uses?

Yes, all custom textures apparently require a prefix now, as mentioned within this thread:

More precisely, the shader setting.
Also, Filch, try hitting print screen while the terrain editor is open and paste that into whatever paint program you use, works for me.
