Is it possible to make a map in a way that every unit will show their attack speed as a numerical value? I'm pretty much sick and tired of playing for example a tower defense map and not being able to compare tower damages efficiently because one tower shoots at "very slow" speed and the other at "fast".
If it's possible, every mapmaker should really do it
Under Game UI data you can specify the table that maps weapon speeds to actual values. So you could add a different entry for each speed that you use in your map, and set the text to the numerical value. That's probably the way to go.
Blizzard made a decision not to show the numeric values for attack speed (UI) because SC units always had inconsistent attack speed (to add luck factor and/or variety).
For example marine's true attack speed is anywhere between 0.7983 and 0.9858 not 0.8608 at all times

For reference the default values are:
2.50 - very slow
1.75 - slow
1.00 - normal
0.75 - fast
0.00 - very fast
^ only way I know how

@zifoon: Go
Really? Does this apply to custom set attack speed values as well? Or just a melee thing.
Also where could you find these values, if they are changeable.
It's for all weapons
You can change the values in the data editor
Weapon - Random Delay minimum
Weapon - Random Delay maximum
I'm guessing you didn't change them ^.^
