I've been thinking about creating a map, which plays just like normal sc2 ( a ladder map such as metalopolis), except there is no MBS, autorally and mass unit selection (so basically SC2 without all those features that make the game so much easier than sc1)... I'm really interested in how the game would feel without these features, and I guess I could find some other people who'd like to play such a map too.
However, I have never really used the sc2 editor, so I don't have a clue how those things could be done. Please help me :-)
So here's again a list of what I'd like to do:
remove MBS: you can only select one building at a time
you can only select up to 12 units at a time. If you try to select more, only 12 will get selected.
You can't set the command center's/Nexus's waypoint directly to the minerals. Or alternatively, you can set it to the minerals, but the workers still won't start working when they come out of the CC. ^_^
I appreciate any help/ideas. Also, feel free to just "steal the idea" and make the whole map yourself, if you're good with the editor (But post it here, I wanna play it) ^^
1. Set the Selection Layer field of every single building model (in data editor) to a different number (currently all combat unit has 1, all building has 2)
2. Make a trigger with event unit is selected, and check the current number if smaller than 12, trim off (deselect) them.
3. Might be modify the rally abilities for worker. I havent tried this. Or just remove rally abilities for Nexus + CC, remove worker rally for Hatch

but then you could still select multiple buildings of the same type couldn't you?

In original Starcraft you can still rally workers to places, auto mining just doesn't work. I think the rally ability would need to be modified.
but then you could still select multiple buildings of the same type couldn't you?
