In the data editor, you can switch to XML view. Once there you can select the XML for the data object you want. You can then copy paste that XML from one map to another. Just take care that the data object is copied into the right area (Unit to Unit, etc.)
If you wish to copy an entire unit, you will need to copy the unit object plus every other object related to it and its abilities (So all the weapons, effects, behaviors, actors, models, sounds).
no, first import the assets (model and textures), then rebuild it step by step by copying all elements (i would start with model, then abilities, then weapon, unit, then actors)
Ok i need to know something because im getting conflicting information.
i want to use campaign units and buildings, i need to export some things, do i need to export the 3D models the .m3 or do i need to reference the data?
i cant use the dependencies because someone im working with, it slows his computer down beyond reason.
for example, I want to use the WarPig marine, what do i need to do to extract him?

I am not sure if this would be a data topic, but my question is this.
Can we export campaign objects and then import them into another map?
for example, if i just wanted the leviathan and nothing else, could i create a map to just extract these units then import them to the real map?
yes, what's the problem? where are you stuck? export model and textures, reimport to your map and then recreate the unit.
how would i export the campaign object, like the leviathan or others and import them.
i havent seen anything about how to do that with campaign objects.
would i also have to export their abilities or would it all come with it?
I've never done anything as complicated as an entire unit. I've exported/imported sounds that are only in the campaign maps though.
so exporting a unit is a little on the difficult side? damn
im working on a project with 2 people and one of them cant use campaign dependencies because it lags his computer, it is alot of crap anyways.
so we were looking to see if i could export what we want, i send it to him, then he imports it into our map without the extra garbage

ok so i have to go into each of the unit related things, one at a time? or is there a faster way?

ok so please forgive me if I am not understanding correctly, I am dyslexic.
to extract a unit i go to data, find unit ..... and while in XML mode i copy all the text, then paste it for the new unit?
