I am using the Texture Select By ID method, which usually works perfectly fine. But for some reason the Oracle texture refuses to show up ingame when I build an Oracle from the Stargate... There are no error messages in the game.
Five pictures are attached in this thread that shows what I have done. I am probably missing something very small and obvious... >.<
I would be grateful if someone has the time to take a look at the pictures and see if you notice anything strange.
Thanks for your reply. I am now using the full texture name and I specify the slots as you describe, but it is still not working. I manage to get other textures to work, but not this one.. T_T
How is the Actor Creation setup to swap textures? I find Model Swap, but nothing that indicates the swapping of textures. I search for tutorials on it but do not find any clear ones
The actor creation event always triggers when the actor is created while unit birth has some exceptions where it does not trigger.
So for your slots you have main.diffuse, main.emissive and main.specular under your model? Made sure all the capital letters are correct? Only adjusted the left index value?
Unless you set them up perfectly the first time the models can get in a knot for some reason. Check the XML if the fields look right and are not misaligned.
@Actor Creation - Ah, yes I have tried that as well, without any success
@Slots - Yep, I use main.diffuse, main.emissive and main.specular in the slot field
@Capital letters - All of the capital letters match the Oracle textures name, as found in the Cutscene editor. I have also tried to use .dds in Trigger on substring to ensure that the entire name is correct
@Index value - "Only adjusted the left index value?" Not sure what you mean?
@XML - I find nothing that seems strange, but that is not a good indicator since I am quite unexperienced with XML
Thanks for all suggestions Doctor, but it still refuses to work. : / I have re-read the tutorial that is linked in your description and everything appears to be ok...
If anyone reading this has the time, it would be highly appreciated if you could try to import the Oracle textures in the opening post into a test map, just to see if the Texture select by ID works for you.. Cause if it works for someone else, then I am obviously screwing something up in the editor >.<
I am trying to add this texture to the Oracle: https://www.sc2mapster.com/projects/dark-protoss/files/667652

If it is giving problems use the full texture name for the prefix and trigger on substring. Also specify the slots better like main.diffuse etc.
Try using the Actor Creation event to swap the textures.

Do not use the .dds
Try swapping it to random textures that are not imported. That is always a good control.
