I have an ability which should have 100 levels, and I want to simply give the ability the same effect 100 times (making have 100 levels). But it's a little tricky to see if the ability has 99 or 100 effects, is there a way to display index numbers for the effects in an ability?
It obviously has an index number, as I refer to it when changing values with the Catalog Field Value Set action.
No, there is not. Try checking in XML view, might still not be optimal, but easier to check there. Could also paste it into a text editor which counts lines.

Copy pasting from a text editor is not a bad idea - thank you :)
Use a Unit Compare Ability Level type validator and if the value is <99 then you know.
