your description of the problem is not helpful.
you mean training hydras, not building? maybe not enough ressources, upkeep? does it happen automatically? maybe your friend is just not smart enough to train hydras? do you train hydras from larva or did you create any other mechanic? did you watch the replay of your friend?
Are you using HotS story dependencies? Sometimes I wonder if the zerg side references what you have unlocked in the campaign with banks if you do that. Not sure though.

Me and my friends were playtesting my map. But the hydras that you were supposed to be able to build did not show up.
When the roles where switched i could build them.
Whats wrong? Why didnt the hydras show up?

Its a building. Its a train ability. Im certain my friend can find the hydras. Theres enough upkeep and resources.
I watched the replay, and everything seems to be in order.
It has no requirements- But it almost seems there is (since it was missing for him).
We talked about it, and three out of four available trainable units where gone.

Curse PremiumDid you switch who was player 1 vs player 2? If there's triggers that affect research levels, that could do something.
Though I doubt this is it, do you both have the same player options enabled/disabled in your options menu?
make sure he doesn't have simple command card enabled

So. He upgraded to heart of the swarm. When he did that, all the units where available again.
Maybe it had something to do with the use of campaign units?
