Hi, I want to make a turret use Plasma Blast, an ability that charge just like the Yamato Gun before firing.
That ability just don't work on the Auto-Turret (even if it works with marines and other mobile units).
It's like the turret is forever searching a target or something like that, the ability button become white, but nothing happens.
I've set the Arc of the ability to 360, it still don't work.
The only way to make it works is to check "Transient" in the flags of the ability, but when I do that, it shoots directly... I lose the charge effect and I want to keep it. Is there any way to make that work while keeping the charge effect ?
I'm really lost, I've been on that for few hours and I really don't find it...
I have the feeling that this "channel" before the ability starts need the turret to face it's target.
But I don't know how to do that... it's really weird...
I am not on a computer with the editor on it, so I do not know for sure, but here are my list of possibilites that I can think of.
Turret is not facing target. If that is the case, you will need to add the turret to the unit. It is defaulted only to the weapon.
The ability is some how set to wait for completion. There might be a flag that only allows the unit to use the ability if it is idle, but I don't know. Check and see.
The ability does not have a long enough range. This is most probable, as you claim it works on moving units. Try and check to make sure the range for the aquire is the same as the actual cast range. If not, the turret will aquire a target but will never be able to cast the actual ability, as it is too far away.
From what you said, the first option is the most probable actually because I know range is just perfect.
But I still don't get how to add the turret to the unit instead of only its weapon... never saw any option for that.

Try posting your map because I have no clue how you have set it up.

Silly question but have you tried enabling the chase flag?
Also your ability is lacking an action actor.
