Hi everyone. I'm very used to the simplicity of the WC3 editor so this SC2 editor is very confusing to me, but I've done a bit of research and I've got a vague idea on how to do things, just not the exact science behind using this editor. I'm trying to take advantage of the "Goliath" ability that allows it to use both of it's attacks at once. (It can fire at air and ground at the same time). Could someone give me specifics on how to properly give this ability to a unit (that isn't a Goliath)? Also, let's say I make two DIFFERENT attacks that hit both ground AND air, will I still be able to use the Goliath ability or will it have to be seperate in targeting things? Thanks!
Haven't seen you around before so I welcome you to sc2mapster :D
I believe the Goliath's power to shoot both weapons at once is not because of an ability, but actually because of how it's weapons are set up. (The in-game button that says 'multi-lock systems' does nothing and is just to let players know the Goliath does have that ability). Somebody correct me on that point if I'm wrong. If you find the Goliath's weapons (under the weapons tab in the data editor), it has 'hellfire missiles' and 'hellfire missiles (multi-lock targeting). The only difference I see is the flags that are checked and unchecked. I believe "linked cooldown" is the one that has to be unchecked for this to work. (Has to be unchecked in BOTH weapons).
Thanks for such a quick response! I'm going to try that.
Also, how exactly do I apply some of the "campaign upgrades" to some of the units? I've played the campaign through already, and I thought some of the upgrades were pretty cool. I'm well aware that some of them are already existing (Combat Shield for Marines, Stimpack for Marines, etc.) but I'm talking about some of the non-melee ones, such as the Bunker with the Turret on top of it, and the Hellion flame buff (where it doubles the width of the attack). Are these seperate units, or seperate "weapon abilities"?
