I gave the Reactor (barracks) the medivac's heal ability. The only thing I changed on the heal ability is the arc (because reactors can't turn). I put the ability on the reactor's ability list and command card, and it shows up in-game, and I can use it manually (I gave reactors energy), but the reactor never auto-casts the heal beam. I've tried a bunch of things that didn't work, and now I'm stuck.
Side note - the auto-cast animation on the button (the sparkles) show up, but barely. It's like the icon is covering up the auto-cast animation. IDK if that has anything to do with my problem.
@shardfenix: GoI'm just having a guess here, but it may be because of attachment points. Since the medic is a unit, it has the required attachment points for the ability to work. I assume the attachments on a building are not made (or do not work) the same way, so it doesn't find any "origin" point and obviously cannot cast the heal effect.
Attachment points are purely visual, the ability should work regardless.
So you changed nothing at all to the autocast values, you can manually cast the heal but the autocast does not work? Strange.

Do you use multiple autocasts on the same unit? This causes similar visual bugs, but the different autocast spells work simultaneously.

The reactor has the required attachment points. The ability itself works when I use it manually, including the visual effect. The problem is that it doesn't auto cast, which has nothing to do with actors.

It's a vanilla reactor with that added ability. The other ones are the in-production abilities the reactor has while other buildings are landing next to them (which aren't autocast, but are "automatic").
