From some tutorials I followed I believe I did this right, I created a unit from scratch based off of the photon cannon. I created a new actor, the unit, weapon, turret, button, abilities, and model for the unit.
Everything is working fine except the build model. I did not change what the actual unit model looks like. I made sure the build model was linked to the original, and yes, the unit has the ability 'build in progress'.
I also tested out the linked build model on another unit that I copy and pasted from a photon cannon, which broke a whole bunch of other things for that copy, sounds mostly.
In short it seems that the building a unit from scratch will yield in less bugs, yet I have the issue of the build model not showing.

I used to have a similar problem with terran building animations not showing up correctly too. Does your build animation show up as a white dome thingy? And when the building finishes constructing, does the actual model show up?
If it's yes to the above 2 questions, then the problem most likely lies in the animation effects of the actors. If you copied the animation effects, I think the editor will remove the .Start .Finish and .Impact of the animations.
No, I don't see a white dome instead of a build animation, nothing shows, I can hear the warping in build sound. And yes, I do see the final product, the unit does form when it is done building.
But in any case I will check the actors, although I don't think that may be the issue. Thanks in any case, I will let you know.
[Edit: I did not copy anything, just as another note. I made new actor, unit weapon..ect as I said in the first post. I based them from the photon cannon. ]

If this issue seems unsolvable, maybe someone can direct me to a detailed unit creating tutorial. I have tried many, and it seems that most are either outdated or not detailed enough to create your own unit from scratch or copy a unit efficiently.
